Formosa lily is one of the tallest of all the lilies, easily reaching 6 - 7 ft (2 m) in height before blooming in late summer in the South or autumn up north. From late August through early October, this lily bears eight or more 10-inch-long, deliciously scented, trumpet shaped white flowers, suffused with wine-purple on the outer side of the petals, upon each stem.
