Description: 19th century kagamibuta (mirror lid) netsuke with Shibayama inlay depicting Daikoku’s mallet surrounded by 9 tama (Precious Gems). The bowl is dark hardwood, the top is boxwood, materials used for inlay are black horn, silver, 3 different kinds of mother of pearl, green stone (appears to be jade) and pink coral. The inlay is in perfect shape, no losses or repairs. Plain back, two parts fit nicely, beautiful mellow patina. Top diameter 11/16 inches, bowl diameter 1 9/16 inches.
