This watercolor painting was purchased from the artist by my client Kenn, and I purchased a collection of five artworks by Wilson from him. He was friends and also did trades for artists works with Steven. The painting depicts the Checkered demon with a wild woman, as she pleasures the Checkered Demon's tongue. Steven Clay Wilson is an American artist and cartoonist. He was one of the artists chosen by Robert Crumb to contribute to his Zap Comix (along with Rick Griffin, Victor Moscoso, Spain Rodriguez, Gilbert Shelton, and Robert Williiams), and Wilson's work has appeared in every issue since #2. Wilson's best-known cartoon character, the Checkered Demon, has appeared in other comics, including Weirdo.
