1971/72 OPC NHL Original Test Posters ~ Intact Double Set ~ No Wax Packs Stains!

Description: In 1971 O-Pee-Chee experimented with large sized posters of hockey players and did a test run in a small sample market in Canada. The idea was for the collector to remove the pair of posters from the wax pack, separate them along the dotted line and pin or tape them to the wall. Unfortunately, they were often marked with a gum stain on one poster and a wax stain on the other, leading OPC to abandon the project after just the one test year. This very rare complete set of 24 posters is fully intact in it's 12 double-poster form. With just the original factory folds present, this set was pulled from production in 1971 and placed into the OPC archives and never actually faced the danger of placement into packs. Even the most discerning of hockey collectors do not own mint single posters, much less a complete 24 player set in double-poster form.
