1960s MORSE Tea ROYAL CANADIAN NAVY SHIPS Card HMCS SIOUX

Description: This scarce card was issued in Canada by the J.E. Morse Company of Halifax Nova Scotia. One was inserted into their brands of Morse’s Tea and Coffee. . No Guide that I am aware of has this series listed, and I have never found reference to an actual date of issued. I have always assumed that it is some time around the 1960’s, but that is just speculation on my part. The front of the card features photographic image of a Ship from the Canadian Navy, done is a blue tint. The back provides fairly detailed info about the ship as well as an offer from Morses for an album to house the cards in. This card is number 11 in the series and features the HMCS SIOUX 225 The Card measures 2 11/16 inches by 1 7/16 inches approximately. The card does have a corner crease. I have scanned the front and back of the card fairly large so you can determine the condition for yourself. THESE CARDS WERE NEVER ISSUED IN THE U.S.A and are scarce. Due to the lower population in Canada than in the US, print runs in Canada were much smaller compared with American Cards. (Because of this the majority of all Canadian non sports cards are far scarcer than card issued in the USA).
