1960s Ideal Toys Go-Go Trunk Doll Case Blue HTF

Description: The quintessential vibe of the go-go era is showcased in this hard to find blue vinyl-covered doll trunk by Ideal Toys. Estimated to be circa the late 1960s, it has fantastic screened illustrations of super mod teens on the go — on the ski slopes, in the surf and sand, on a scooter and on the dance floor. The words ‘Go-Go Doll Trunk’ are emblazoned on the front panel to further amplify the theme and the copyright Ideal Toys Corporation with logo is on the lower front. The trunk has a groovy split front panel and a double fold-over buckle latch in brass-colored metal for closure. There is a black soft vinyl top handle for carrying. Interior has three vertical compartments, two metal hanging rods and an accessory cupboard. Capacity for dolls up to 12 1/2 inches tall. Trunk dimensions are approximately 14” x 11” x 7” Condition: Very good vintage condition, the vinyl ripples across all exterior sides and there is one faint mark on the lower portion of the otherwise excellent graphics (see photos). Trunk’s hard cardboard foundation is stable and still nicely shaped, the metal grommets, hinges, clasps and buckles have very, very little bits of oxidization, they close properly and both sides align well. Vinyl is very good condition on the interior, no rips nor tears, no stains. The compartment doors close and latches as designed. No stains. Mustiness from age and storage.
