This mark was used as early as the mid 1940's MARKINGS: Walter Lampl script WL in a shield mark along with 1-20 12k (for gold filled metal content) METAL / MATERIAL: Gold plated - I feel the base metal is sterling silver as it is non-magnetic and he was well known to use sterling silver often. It is just an educated guess - I am not going to scratch this gorgeous old piece up to be able to say for certain.
