Description: This is a pair of original Ladies high heels from the 1940's.They are Genuine soft suede black leather.They have an ankle strap and a small platform lift at the foot.Sturdy leather soles and lined in genuine leather too.These are made to last! Very well constructed and made of quality materials!They have steel shanks inside the sole of the shoe. The shank prevents the heel from spreading out when you walk or stand.In other words- underneath the arch of the foot- the shank remains rigid. Believe it or not- you can feel the sturdiness when you stand and walk. And the shoe - and heel- wear better.These are D'Orsay style. They have a 4 inch heel.Original inner soles that read "Meri Originals Long Beach L.I.", Custom Made.The shoes are marked size 7 narrow. I wear a size 6 1/2 and these are just a little big, so they seem to run true to that size marking by today's standards.You should have a narrow foot to wear these. I have a narrow foot and these just fit in the width.Handwritten size, which indicates these were a custom made fit.Please check measurements against your own foot or a pair of shoes you own.The shoe measures 9 1/2" long from toe to heel inside. Just under 3" wide across the ball of the foot.The suede on the heels is in excellent condition. The shoes are sound and sturdy. The shoes have their original heel taps and they are also in excellent condition.
