It is now an operating subsidiary of the Norfolk Southern Corporation, running southwest from Chattanooga, Tennessee through Birmingham, Alabama and Meridian, Mississippi to New Orleans, Louisiana. The AGS operates over 500 miles of trackage. The former Southern Railway Company, now part of Norfolk Southern, gained control of the AGS in 1969, merging into it the New Orleans & Northeastern Railroad; these formed the main line of Southern from Louisiana into Georgia and Tennessee. The back side has residue from the pass being glued in a binder by a prior owner; there are also 3 punchholes on the left margin. Price discounted for these flaws.
