Thousands of workmen are now building mudboxes atop the seawall in an effort to prevent the murky waters of the Mississippi and Ohio from flowing in from that front. Here is the exit to the city, protected by a high levee which hundreds of workers are trying to build higher and higher against the anticipate crest.
