Each had a normal card, and each had another card issued with an EX MGR notation. Ex Mgr Cleveland on Speaker's the card refers to a game fixing scheme between him and Ty Cobb.If Cleveland (Speaker) beat Detroit (Cobb) in the last game of the year, Speaker was due a bonus. They conspired to 'fix' the game.Long story short, Cobb refused to pay his pitcher who was in on the fix and lost the game. The pitcher reported the scam to the American League President who suspended Cobb & Speaker. Cobb threatened to go to the press unless reinstated. Baseball's reputation was just recovering from the 1919 Black Sox scandal, and couldn't afford another. Both coaches were reinstated.-SOMETIMES CARDS TELL A GREAT STORY, IF WE LOOK...Rough guys back in the day. There is a book out that goes into detail. Thank you for your interest!
