Description: This is the Fortieth Anniversary Report (Report 7) of the Secretary of the Class of 1881 of Harvard College (1906-1921) . It is in very good condition. It is 103 years old. The book measures 9 3/4" X 6 1/2" and there are 291 pages. The book is hardcover, with covers of crimson cloth over boards. The main portion of the book is comprised of Records of the Class. These are autobiographical sketches submitted by members of the Class of 1881 that cover the years 1906-1921. The sketches were gathered as follows: members of the Class of 1881 submitted them to the Secretary and they were then published in this book. These autobiographical sketches make up the majority of the book (273 pages). They are in alphabetical order. This book apparently belonged to Robert Williamson Lovett, M.D., S.D. I am including what appears to be a typed biographical sketch of his life to be used for his obituary. This is obviously written posthumously because his death is described in the sketch. An obituary was published by the New England Journal of Medicine and can be found at https://www.nejm.org/doi/abs/10.1056/NEJM192408141910715 Contents: 1. Class List2. Class Committee3. Secretary's Report4. Reunion Reminiscences5. Records of the Class6. War Records of the Children7. Deaths8. Addresses
