Description: Rare 1916 Brooklyn Dodgers season pass from their National League Championship season playing under their Manager and future Hall of Famer Wilbert Robinson and fielding future Hall of Famers Rube Marquard, Casey Stengel and Zack Wheat. Made out to Mrs Otto Miller (wife of Dodgers catcher Otto Miller) the pass with her name and signature of team owner Charles Ebbets traced over exhibits noticeable creasing with evidence of scrapbook removal on verso. Nonetheless visually attractive graphics catch the eye with vignettes of the 1776 Battle of Long Island and Ebbets Field, home of The Brooklyn Base Ball Club dated 1912, the year it was constructed. The NL Champion Dodgers or Brooklyn Robins as they were interchangeably called would go on to face Babe Ruth and the Boston Red Sox in the World Series where they were defeated 4 games to 1. SIDE NOTE: Otto Miller, nicknamed “Moonie” was a participant in the only unassisted triple play in World Series history. The historical play occurred in the fifth inning of Game 5 of the 1920 World Series, when Miller was tagged out by Cleveland Indians second baseman Bill Wambsganss making the third out in the record setting play. The 4.375 X 2.75 pass is housed in a special lucite holder being authenticated by PSA (grade PSA 1). Vintage passes such as this come rarely come to market and are increasingly desirable.
