Description: Souvenir token struck for the 1909 Alaska-Yukon-Pacific Exposition at Seattle. 24mm, struck in Copper, Obverse shows Chief Seattle, the Reverse a motif derived from the AYP Official Seal. Uncirculated, with some remaining signs of original bright Copper surface in well protected areas. Not signed so probably not Meyer Brothers, who tended to "advertise". This is likely a non-official item sold in Seattle off the AYP grounds. Scarce, I had never seen this design before despite spending 30+ years in the Northwest hunting for World's Fair exonumia. I was able to locate sales data for a number of examples, however apparently NONE sold on ebay since 2018, allowing for the possibility that I missed something. To me that suggests that a small hoard or group came out at that time, and was well distributed. NGC will certify this piece as a Misc. World's Fair item. 1104-08 Please Note: We require payment within four days of purchase, unless you contact us for other arrangements in advance of purchase. Items not paid for within 4 days will have an automatic unpaid item case opened - please do not make a purchase unless you intend to honor your commitment. If you have any questions, please email. Buy or Bid with confidence: we have a heritage to 1937, and loads of good eBay Feedback, where I have been selling since 1997. Good Luck & Good Hunting! Tipsico Coin, Mon.- Fri. 10 AM - 4 PM MST.
