Description: Scarce reference w/ bold contrast and beautiful condition. Identified Eugene Standing Elk (Lame Deer MT) & Thomas Horseroads (Busby MT) in the negative, both men wear convention ribbons from the Freeman South Dakota (SD) Conference and were likely representing the White River Reservation Mennonite Church. The conference began in 1896 and the absence of a stamp block here dates this to the early 1900s. Dark contrast against a traveling photographer’s backdrop. Unused w/ trivial edge wear.
