Description: For sale today is a scarce 1899 $2 Silver Certificate known as the "Mini Porthole" or "Agriculture and Mechanics". This is the Fr 251 with Vernon-Treat signatures. This was a very early signature of the 24 year run and these early ones are tough to find. This note features a low 6 digit serial which is tough to find in this series. This was one of the most intricate and beautiful designs in US currency, and was also the last $2 silver certificate series to be printed. The note grades Fine in my opinion. It has honest circulation from buying a lot of goods and services 124 years ago, but is completely intact and decent for the grade. Please check pics and judge condition for yourself.
