Description: I have here for sale a book entitled THE POPULAR RELIGION AND FOLK-LORE OF NORTHERN INDIA by W. Crooke, B.A. Revised edition, published by Archibald Constable & Co. in London in 1896. Illustrated throughout with black and white photographs. Includes a frontispiece (with tissue guard) of Yama, God of Death. This book is volume II. Maroon cloth hardboards with blind stamp bordering and gilt lettering to spine. Front and back boards have a few spots of bleaching, scuffs or scratches. Rubbing to head and tail. Offsetting on prelim and flyleaf. Some occasional pulling to binding but generally firm. Instances of very minimal foxing throughout. Very good condition. 23 cm x 15 cm, 359 pages.
