Description: Up for sale is a rare Victorian diecut produced in 1884 by the Atlantic & Pacific Tea Company, "The Largest Importers and Retailers in the World." This was likely a promotional advertisement that was a give-away to customers. This colorful piece has some interesting things going on. For instance, it appears that a buxom beauty is being courted or wooed by two military men. At the lower bottom of the diecut you can see an elderly woman sitting a rowboat with a caption that reads "Grandmothers in the Right Boat". I wonder that that means?! If you look carefully, you can see a copyright of 1884 at the very bottom of the diecut. On the back of the diecut is a lot of detailed information about A&P Branch Houses locations in the U.S.. Additionally the company is warning customers about the dangers of drinking that are not pure that are sold for teas and coffees. The diecut measures about 6 x 7 1/2", in very good condition. No tears or folds. A few scuffs and glue marks on the backside of the diecut. Please see both scans. FREE SHIPPING! Please email with questions before buying this diecut, and visit our eBay store, Paper Emporium, for vintage photos, maps and charts, postcards, old advertising, automotive manuals, and much more.
