Description: 1870s HB&H Lantern. Glass Shade is Broken. Pictured in Thuro's Oil Lamps 3 on page 215, where it is even stated that the globes tend to crack when used. The glass globe can be replaced, so check eBay to find one. There are age related cracks in the brass in a few spots at the top, as shown. Untested for use.The lantern measures about 10" tall. and the base is 3-3/4" diameter. The shade is 4" diameter x 4-1/2" tall. The top is 2-3/8" and the bottom is 2-7/8"
