Description: Pictured is an early blue & white spongeware creamer pitcher offered for sale. The bulbous, ovoid pitcher has an uncommon scalloped rim, short pinched spout, & dense cobalt blue sponging. It measures 6 1/2" in overall height, 3 5/8" in base diameter, & dates from 1860 - 1885. It's in excellent condition with extremely light abrasion to the interior rim, perhaps used as a spooner at one time. A colorful, eye-appealing spongeware pitcher adding variety to ones collection....
