The catalogue is detailed, showing an expanse of antique and educational works. This classed catalog shows the required reading in the educational system of Sweden in the early nineteenth century, thus a fascinating insight into Swedish history. Katedralskolan is one of Sweden's oldest Upper Secondary Schools. The school was founded in 1641 by the Diocese of Skara and its bishop, Jonas Magni Wexionensis. The founding of the school was approved by Queen Christina. For hundreds of years before the founding of Katedralskolan, the school has been used as a priest training school, having been founded for that purpose in the thirteenth century. Famous students of the school include the chemist Torben Bergman, the writer Johannes Edfelt, the poet Johan Henrik Kellgren, and the composer and politician Gunnar Wennerberg. Compiled by Wilhelm Luth, who was the librarian of the school from 1808 to 1844. CONDITION In the original handmade paper wraps. Externally, generally smart. Light marks to the boards and spine.
